Everyone loves pizza, right? Well have we ever thought about where the pizza really comes from and why is it called La pizza Margherita?

Pizza Margherita comes from Naples, Italy and it was made for the Queen of Italy; Margherita of Savoy in 1780. The pizza was the Queen's favorite because of its colors of the Italian flag: green (basil leaves), white (mozzarella), and red (tomatoes). In her honor the pizza was named Pizza Margherita.

In the heart of Naples chaotic traffic and Vespa noises is the first pizzeria in the world; Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba. It is famous all around the world of the most delicious pizzas ever. In the pizzeria the pizza makers (pizzaioli) are very firm about how the pizza should be done and served. A real Italian pizza must be baked in a wood-fired, served with enjoyment and eaten in a good company of friends.
